बिलोरी जर्नलच्या दुसर्या अंकासाठी आम्ही इंग्रजी आणि मराठी प्रवेशिका स्वीकारत आहोत.

आपलं लेखन पाठवण्यापूर्वी पुढील मजकूर बारकाईने वाचा.

आम्हाला काय हवं आहे:

अपरिचित पुस्तकं, फारशी ज्ञात किंवा प्रसिद्ध नसलेली पुस्तकं, विविध भाषांमधील पुस्तकं, अनुवादित पुस्तकं यांविषयीचे लेख

दुर्लक्षित, निषिद्ध, उपेक्षित, विक्रीतंत्रापासून वंचित अशा साहित्यकृतींविषयीचे लेख

दुर्लक्षिले गेलेले, काल्पनिक वाङ्मय, बखरी (स्मरणपत्रं), लेखसंग्रह, कवितासंग्रह यांविषयीचे लेख

या साहित्यकृतींच्या वाचनाबद्दलचे लेख

साहित्याचा समीक्षक वृत्तीने मागोवा घेणारे आणि त्या-त्या साहित्यकृतीच्या सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक व सामाजिक-राजकीय व्याप्तीबद्दल सखोल अभ्यासपूर्वक लिहिलेले लेख

शोध घेणारे, पडताळणी करणारे, प्रश्न उपस्थित करणारे आणि विश्लेषण करणारे लेख

तुमच्या हाती असलेल्या मजकुराच्या संदर्भातले तुमचे स्वतःचे जीवनानुभव/सामाजिक वास्तव यांचा शोध घेणारे लेख

आम्ही पुढील प्रकारचे लेख स्वीकारत आहोत:

१. संशोधनात्मक लेख: शब्दमर्यादा - ५०० ते ३००० शब्द.

२. व्यक्तिगत लेख/ विचार-विश्लेषण: शब्दमर्यादा - ५०० ते ३००० शब्द.

आम्हाला काय नको आहे:

ज्याचं आधीच खूप विश्लेषण केलं गेलं आहे असं मुख्यप्रवाहातील प्रमाणभूत साहित्य, आणि त्यावर आधारित लेख आम्ही स्वीकारत नाही आहोत. आम्ही पुस्तक परीक्षणं किंवा बातम्या स्वीकारत नाही आहोत.

या नियमाला अपवाद आहे. एखाद्या प्रख्यात लेखकावर किंवा साहित्यकृतीवर तुम्हाला लेख सादर करायचा असेल, तर कृपया तुमच्या ईमेलच्या कव्हर लेटरमध्ये त्या लेखाच्या समर्थनार्थ लिहा.

तुमचं लेखन बिलोरीला पाठवताना पाळायचे काही नियम:

१. तुमच्या लेखाच्या शेवटी कृपया संदर्भ-सूची द्या. संदर्भ-सूची म्हणजे तुमच्या लेखात तुम्ही मांडलेले विचार आणि मुद्दे हे ज्यांमुळे प्रेरित झाले असू शकतील अशी सगळी पुस्तकं, लेख, चित्रफिती, चित्रपट किंवा इतर कोणतेही साहित्य यांची फक्त एक यादी. आम्ही वाचक आणि विद्यार्थ्यांचा एक गट आहोत आणि एखाद्या विषयावर आणखी काही वाचायला आम्हाला नेहमीच आवडतं. संदर्भ-सूचीमुळे वाचकांना त्या विषयाचा अधिक शोध घ्यायला मदत होते.

२. लेखामध्ये जे भाग/वाक्य/ओळी तुम्ही इतर ठिकाणांहून उद्धृत केले असतील, किंवा जिथे इतर मजकुराचा संदर्भ दिला असेल, किंवा जो भाग इतर कुणाचा लेख, पुस्तक, मुलाखत, चित्रपट किंवा इतर काही साहित्यामुळे मोठ्या प्रमाणात प्रेरित असेल तर त्याचा संदर्भ कृपया पुरवा. तुम्ही संदर्भ कोणत्या स्वरूपात देता हे आमच्यासाठी तितकंसं महत्त्वाचं नाही, पण उद्धृत केलेल्या भागापासून मूळ स्रोतापर्यंत आम्हाला पोहोचता आलं पाहिजे. जिथे श्रेय देणं आवश्यक आहे तिथे ते दिलं जाणं आणि इतर कुणाच्या कामाचा गैरवापर न करणं महत्त्वाचं आहे. संदर्भ पुरवल्याने उचलेगिरीला प्रतिबंध होतो.

३. तुमच्या संशोधनक्षेत्राची ओळख नसलेल्या व्यक्तींसाठी कृपया शब्दार्थसूची द्या. ही शब्दार्थसूची म्हणजे केवळ शब्दांची त्यांच्या अर्थासह आणि समानार्थी शब्दांसह यादी असू शकते किंवा वाचकांना त्या संकल्पनेबाबत आणखी माहिती मिळवण्यासाठी मदत होईल अशा स्रोताकडे घेऊन जाणारी एखादी सक्रिय हायपरलिंक असू शकते.

४. तुमचे संदर्भ इतर समकालीनांनी समीक्षा केलेल्या जर्नलमधले असू शकतात, पण ते त्यापुरतेच मर्यादित ठेवण्याची सक्ती नाही. संदर्भ हे एखादा यूट्यूब व्हिडीओपासून एखादा वृत्तपत्रीय लेख अशा कोणत्याही स्वरूपात असू शकतात.

५. तुम्हाला तुमची बहुभाषिकता, भावनात्मक जाणिवा आणि स्वानुभवावर आधारित स्वतःची मतं या गोष्टी आचारनियंत्रित (सेन्सर) करण्याची आवश्यकता नाही.

६. तुमचा लेख वर्ड (.docx) डॉक्युमेंटच्या स्वरूपात पाठवा. त्यातली लाईन स्पेसिंग १.५ किंवा २ एवढी ठेवा आणि फॉण्ट साईझ १४पेक्षा कमी ठेवू नका.

७. ज्या प्रकारचा लेख तुम्ही पाठवणार आहात त्याचं नाव (व्यक्तिगत किंवा संशोधनात्मक) आणि तुमचं पूर्ण नाव सब्जेक्ट लाईनमध्ये लिहा. उदाहरणार्थ: संशोधनात्मक लेख_पूर्ण नाव.

८. ईमेलच्या मजकुरात लेखकाची (तुमची) ३ ते ५ ओळींत तृतीयपुरुषांत चरित्रात्मक माहिती लिहा.

९. तुमच्या स्वतःबद्दलच्या माहितीबरोबर खालील तीन प्रश्नांची थोडक्यात उत्तरं ईमेलमध्ये समाविष्ट करा:

१. कोणती/कोणत्या साहित्यकृती तुमच्या लेखाचा विषय आहेत?

२. त्या साहित्यकृती/साहित्यकृतींबद्दल लिहायचं तुम्ही का ठरवलंत?

३. त्या साहित्यकृतीबद्दल किंवा लेखकाबद्दल मुख्यप्रवाहात बोललं गेलं पाहिजे असं तुम्हाला का वाटतं?

पूर्ण वर्षभर प्रवेशिका सातत्याने स्वीकारल्या जातील. एखाद्या अंकाच्या अंतिम तारखेनंतर पाठवलेल्या प्रवेशिका पुढच्या अंकासाठी विचारात घेतल्या जातील.

तुमच्या प्रवेशिका संपादित करण्याचा हक्क आम्ही राखून ठेवतो. आमच्याकडे आलेली प्रत्येक प्रवेशिका प्रकाशित करणं आम्हाला कदाचित शक्य होणार नाही.

बिलोरी जर्नल हे पूर्णपणे स्वयंसेवक-आधारित आहे आणि त्यामुळे सहभागी लेखकांना आर्थिक मोबदला दिला जाऊ शकत नाही. असं असलं तरी, आम्ही आमच्या सर्व सहभागी लेखकांसोबत एक अर्थपूर्ण अनुबंध जोडण्याची आणि आमचं हे व्यासपीठ वेचक व वेधक संवादांसाठी उपलब्ध करून देण्याची मनीषा बाळगतो.

आपलं लेखन आम्हाला सुपूर्त करणाऱ्या सहभागी लेखकांचे आम्ही मनापासून आभार मानतो आणि त्यांच्याप्रती कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करतो.

Bilori Journal is open for Marathi and English submissions for Issue 4.

Please read this page carefully before you submit.

What we are looking for:

Essays about unknown books, lesser-known books, books in various languages, books in translation, essays about works of literature that remain sidelined, suppressed, marginalised, under-marketed, essays about fiction, memoirs, essay collections, poetry collections that have

been overlooked, essays about the experience of reading these overlooked/under-researched

works, essays that explore literature critically and delve into the socio-cultural, socio-political

scope of the work, essays that explore and probe and question and analyse, personal essays that explore your own lived experiences/social reality through the context of the text you are looking at.

We are looking for essays in the following categories:

Research essay: word limit-500 to 3000 words
Personal essays/think pieces: word limit-500 to 3000 words

Here are some of the editorial team’s favourite pieces from other magazines and journals

as general and rough examples of what we are looking for:

(While some of these are concerned with well-known authors and texts, what we are essentially looking for is writing with a similar essence as these examples.)

What we are not looking for:

We are not looking for essays that centre on the mainstream canonical literature, which have already been analysed thoroughly. (There are exceptions to this rule. If you believe that you can make a case for writing about a more popular writer/work of literature, please include your justification in your cover letter.)

We are not looking for book reviews or news pieces.

Here are some things to adhere to when sending your work to Bilori:

Please provide citations wherever you have quoted, referred or were heavily influenced by someone else’s essay, article, book, interview, film or any other material. We do not care what format you use for citations as long as we can trace the cited part to its source material. It’s important to give credit where credit is due and prevent the appropriation of someone else’s work. Citations help prevent plagiarism.
Please provide a bibliography at the end of your essay. Bibliography meaning simply a list of all the books, articles, videos, films or any other material which might’ve inspired your thoughts and arguments within the essay. We are a team of readers and students, who always love to read more on the topic. A bibliography helps readers explore more.
Your references can, but need not be from other peer-reviewed journals. They could be anything from a youtube video to a news article.
Please provide a glossary of words that may not be known to someone who is not familiar with your field of study. Your glossary can simply be a list of words with their meanings and synonyms next to them or a functioning hyperlink to a resource that will help the reader know more about the concept.
You do not need to censor your multlinguality, emotional consciousness and experiential first-person opinions.
Please attach your essay as a Word document. Make sure the line spacing is set at 1.5 or 2 and that your font size is no less than 14.
Your subject line should be the category you’re submitting (personal or research) and your full name. Example: Research Essay_Full Name.
Please include an author bio of 3 to 5 sentences in the third person within the body of the email.
Along with your bio, include brief answers to the following three points in the email-

a. Which work(s) of literature is/are the subject of your essay?

b. Why did you choose to write about it/them?

c. Why do you think the work or author should be talked about in the mainstream?

Submissions will remain open throughout the year on a rolling basis. Submissions sent after the deadline will be considered for the next issue. We reserve the right to edit your submissions. It may not be possible for us to publish every single submission that we receive.

Bilori Journal is entirely volunteer-based and cannot offer payments to contributors. However, we do look forward to forming meaningful connections with all our writers and using our platform to create a space for interesting conversations.We greatly appreciate and are grateful for contributors who choose to share their work with us.
